01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Take the lift up to floor 5 of the Torii Building to watch your meal take shape on the sizzling griddle before your eyes. Non-chan is an unpretentious teppanyaki spot with counter and table seating, where guests can take their time savouring savoury batter dishes and grilled meats.

Beta-Yaki and Generously Filled Okonomiyaki

The standout item on the menu is beta-yaki, a thin, layered Kyoto-style savoury pancake. It can be ordered with pork, squid, prawns, beef, or as a mixed combination. Thick, classic okonomiyaki and negiyaki packed with beef sinew are also on offer, giving diners plenty of options to suit their tastes.

Teppan Small Plates and Drinks

Teppan-grilled side dishes are ideal while waiting for your main pancake or to enjoy alongside drinks. The spread covers both meat and seafood, ranging from beer-friendly grilled offal and dashi rolled omelettes to tonpeiyaki (pork wrapped in egg) and domestic Wagyu ichibo (rump cap) steak. A fresh sudachi chuhai or jasmine shochu makes a fine partner for grazing through the savoury dishes.

Dinner and Late-Evening Drinks

Non-chan is closed on Sundays and operates from 17:00 to 23:00 from Monday through Saturday. The schedule suits a substantial dinner just as well as a relaxed late-evening drink. Seating is limited, so reserving ahead is a sensible step if you want to settle in comfortably.
